RF Engineer (P308) — Austin

Specific Opportunities and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the RF device team to develop various amplifier assemblies based on the newly developed RF devices.
- Responsible for design requirements, circuit simulation, PCB layouts, component specifications, prototype assembly, and verification testing.
- Participate in process / transistor evaluations, laboratory test setups, and automated test development.
- Work closely with customers during initial evaluation and follow-on design applications.
Requirements:
- BSEE + 5 years (or equivalent) RF design experience.
- Proven experience in analysis, design, and PCB layout of RF circuits and components for wireless infrastructure equipment.
- Significant experience developing W-CDMA RF power amplifiers capable of transmitting at least 15 Watts. Design experience, characterization, and optimization of RF power devices and supporting interface circuitry.
- Experience with Class A and AB amplifiers required. Experience with Class D, E, or S is desirable.
- Knowledgeable of linearization and efficiency enhancing techniques for high power RF amplifiers.
- Design experience with modulators, up/down converters, IF/RF filters, PLLs, RF splitter/combiner networks, RF switches, power detectors, and RF device matching.
- Experience developing RF products from high level specs to low level implementation and into production.
- Experience in engineering validation, testing, and debugging.
- Working knowledge of W-CDMA specifications, RF tools, and laboratory test equipment.
